The Colorado GOP has released the approve/disapprove numbers of their utterly contradictory platform.

Psst… check out the crazy:

30. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that life begins at conception and is deserving of legal protection from conception until natural death.

Total Votes 3008

YES 2378 79.06%

NO 630 20.94%

32. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that pregnancy, abortion, and birth control are personal private matters not subject to government regulation or interference.
Total Votes 2984

YES 2210 74.06%

NO 774 25.94%

Yes. #30 says “no abortion” and #32 says “abortion is a private matter.” Did they get confused? I did.

These are my favorites:

17. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support reducing the size and scope of government at all levels by limiting and reducing taxes, regulation, and government spending.

Total Votes 3266

YES 3226 98.78%

NO 40 1.22%

…And in the same breath…

18. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans fully support the United States winning the war on terrorism and furthermore support the brave men and women of our Armed Forces in defense of the United States of America.

Total Votes 3240

YES 3175 97.99%

NO 65 2.01%

And for those of you who believe the Constitution is actually a good thing, the GOP doesn’t think it should apply:

19. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans believe foreign terrorists are illegal enemy combatants who should not be treated like domestic criminals and should not be tried in civilian courts.

Total Votes 3256

YES 3190 97.97%

NO 66 2.03%

…now to the darkies…

22. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose any form of amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Total Votes 3215

YES 3019 93.90%

NO 196 6.10%

23. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that birthright citizenship not be granted to any person when neither parent is a citizen.

Total Votes 3215

YES 2927 91.04%

NO 288 8.96%

OH! BUT WAIT:

24. It is resolved by Colorado Republicans that a well-regulated guest worker program is important to Colorado agriculture and industry.

Total Votes 3201

YES 2999 93.69%

NO 202 6.31%

…because they do have their uses afterall, don’t they?

And probably my favorite bit of hypocrisy:

25. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose the concept of sanctuary cities and support legislation that would prohibit public funding to any locality that refuses to cooperate with the enforcement of immigration laws.

Total Votes 3121

YES 3071 98.40%

NO 50 1.60%

What ever happened to local control?

Ooh! & WTF???:

51. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose public funding, directly or indirectly, to any organization participating in voter registration drives.

Total Votes 3050

YES 2985 97.87%

NO 65 2.13%

…yeah, we don’t want people actually choosing to vote Democrat or anything.

52. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans affirm that the English language be the only official language of the United States.

Total Votes 3078

YES 3015 97.95%

NO 63 2.05%

ENGLSH??

56. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support tort reform such as limiting non-economic and punitive damages and product and professional liability.

Total Votes 3023

YES 2916 96.46%

NO 107 3.54%

What’s the cap on this?

57. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans oppose implementation of “net neutrality” and revival of the “fairness doctrine” in any form with respect to the internet, television, radio, or other publicly available media.

Total Votes 3008
YES 2924 97.21%

NO 84 2.79%

Net Neutrality Democracy: because those who have the most $$ speak the loudest.

And don’t forget that this is all sanctioned by an invisible power that speaks specifically to WASPs.

58. It is resolved that Colorado Republicans support retaining the phrase “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Total Votes 3090

YES 3010 97.41%

NO 80 2.59%
