Longmont Community Slaps Blogger Wrongmont and Times-Call

The Longmont Daily Times-Call would do well to heed the words that chastised Senator Joe McCarthy, the communist witch-hunter of the 1950s: “Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?”

President and Editor Dean Lehman permitted an attack on Council Member Sarah Levison that far exceeded any I have yet to read in the Times-Call against a sitting council member.

The Times-Call hides behind the notion of a “public figure” exception in order to justify attacks when it suits Mr. Lehman’s fancy. I doubt very much that Mr. Lehman would permit a similar attack on his favored four. Remember, the Times-Call endorsed Baum, Santos, Witt and Sammoury in last year’s election.

The Longmont community was justifiably outraged by such an attack and has not hesitated to let both the Times-Call and Chris Rodriguez know it.

    Kaye,

Your doubts are correct. The Longmont Times Call declined to print my letter because they had heard enough about that guy whose name dare not be uttered.

James, there is more than one voice in this community. Regardless of suppression efforts, those additional voices will be heard. You see, there is this pesky thing called the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

HAHAHAHA…just wait until Tuesday. You ain’t seen nothing yet. HAHAHAHAHA.

The comment from ‘Free Range Lunatics’ comes from this IP address: 75.71.87.194 – in the same range as two other IPs used by Stephanie Baum. This is the quality of ‘leadership’ in Longmont today. Wealthy thugs taking over our local government, fixing the election process to allow more abuse and then sneering at the voters. It’s really time for a recall.

Anyone who has read just a fraction of what Chris Rodriguez has written can tell that he is a very unhappy, insecure and miserable person. Thus, he takes out his frustrations in his own pitiful life on those in public office.

Misery loves company…thus the comment from F R Lunatics above. Makes one wonder why people like Baum, Witt and Santos even acknowledge knowing, let alone associate with someone like Rodgriguez.

Because beneath the bling, the fancy suits and the expensive do’s they’re just the same. Money can’t buy happiness but they’ll keep trying – and screwing up people’s lives as much as they can in the meantime.

Just got (yet another) threatening email claiming that my comment about IP address ranges is libel. The mayor’s wife clearly wants it both ways – to pretend to have class in public and also be able to conduct attacks on line – in my opinion either herself or via one of her cats paws. I’ve now had to block her from Facebook, my personal mail and FRL – who’s stalking who?

After seeing the article in the Times Call today about possibly rescinding the coucil’s recommendation of Sarah Levison for the CML, it’s pretty obvious that council affairs are being decided OUTSIDE COUNCIL.

You seem to forget: power is heady and narcotic stuff. Those who crave it want more, ever more. And, like anything else with diminishing returns, more effort (don’t get in the way!) is required to add each increment of power. Getting it is one thing, wielding it another. But one addicted wields it in order to get more of it. It only looks like a positive feedback loop. I’d be careful; some will feel not only empowered but licensed after one more election. PITBH will become Police Incarcerate Trivial Blow Hards. And who defines them? See above.
