Redistribution of wealth

The wealth is being redistributed WHERE?

The right constantly hammers the meme that Democrats want to ‘redistribute wealth’ – this chart makes it pretty obvious where that wealth is being ‘redistributed’ – the working class is being sucked dry by the vampires at the top of the earning curve. That wealthiest %1 is killing this country very successfully – and we wouldn’t want to penalize them for their ‘success’ now would we?

Nice to know America’s kings and queens are taking all that money and doing something with it like creating jobs.

This helps illustrate what is meant by “taking ‘America’ back.” From whom or to where, or (especially) TO whom or where, we might not want to hear. It could be back to the 1930s, when a cabal of well-heeled persons plotted to depose FDR. It’s euphemistically called the “business plot.” Or it may be back to the 1820s — manifest destiny, and all that crap. BUT, you heard it here first: Sarah Palin is pedaling hard to become the next POTUS. I begin to think she might do it. Notice the photo ops as she visits Hong Kong (that’s right next to Wasilla; ain’t it?); observe the cable TV short series, picturing her with a FIREARM, even operating it. Remind you of Usama bin Laden with his AK-74? By God, there’s somebody to kick some raghead ass!!!! And her down-home, Will-Rogers rhetoric makes her seem at least palatable to Ma and Pa Kettle, you know. All it’s going to take is two years of gridlock, which will of course be blamed on the Democratic Party, and a foreign-policy setback or two. It’s already known that the GOP and not a few military “minds” are hell-bent against wrapping up our Afghan adventure in 2011. It would be nicer to change the executive by ballot, but never count the extremists out. They will choose the other option if it suits their purposes. This time they may not even have to make it look like a lone nut carried it out. There will be value in letting one and all know that stepping “out of line” carries consequences. Naturally, with American minds formed not by good schools but by cell phones and CATV (or Fox “News”), voters in 2012 are likely to seek one of “their own.” Don’t think it can’t happen.

Come on, Doug. You know you need to give a footnote as to where you got the chart. I know it’s true, but I was an economist, you dig? “What we have here is a failure to communicate.” — Cool Hand Luke. Some of these people railing about DEBT ought to incur less of it in their households. Might mean fewer Wal-Mart trips, but, hey; times are tough, knowhatimean? Better yet, if one is so exorcised over government debt, whip out that checkbook, cousin! Put your dollars where the doughnuts go! AND WHYIZZIT FOLKS SAY THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT GOVERNMENT DEBT THEIR KIDS AND GRANDKIDS MAY HAVE TO BEAR, BUT THEY DON’T CARE A WHIT ABOUT THE CLIMATE CHANGE THAT IS PROBABLY GOING TO ENGULF THOSE SAME DESCENDANTS? Because carbon regulation means “loss of freedom,” that’s why. And what is “freedom?” Why, the ability to propel three tons of Hummer down the cratered road at 110 km per hour while texting, putting on deodorant AND salting the Burger King fries. No problem, amigo. Okay, so I just got out of the hospital. Anaesthesia head, you know. You guess.
