From the Colorado Independent:
Gessler will help raise funds to pay fine he levied against Larimer GOP
‘It makes a mockery out of the process’ —CO Ethics Watch

Alfred E. Neuman meet Scott Gessler. In another missive from the “You just can’t make this stuff up department,” it’s been announced that Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler will be the key attraction at a fundraiser this month to help the Larimer County Republican Party raise money to pay off fines levied by Gessler’s office.
This latest news comes as no surprise – the CO GOP knows exactly why they worked so hard to get Gessler elected, and the investment’s paid off handsomely.
It’s almost as good as starting lawsuits with the city, then getting your good ole boys elected, then quickly settling the suits. All that was left to do was fire up some stogies and enjoy a vigorous round of back-slapping and laughing at the taxpayer’s expense.
We’ve been following this story for some time and Gessler’s behavior has been very consistent. Unethical and abominable but consistent.
