Romney visit in Ft. Lupton – Wed. May 9

Taking with both hands

We just received word that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is making a stop near Fort Lupton tomorrow morning (Wednesday). Romney will reportedly give a speech at an oil drilling facility northwest of town at 10AM.

It’s terribly short notice, but we need you to join us tomorrow morning to counter Romney’s visit.

For months, Romney and his right-wing allies have claimed that energy production in America is being “held back.” But it’s not true: domestic oil and gas production is actually at its highest level in years, and America even exported refined petroleum products last year.

Rather than calling for responsible development of our natural resources, Romney and his friends in the energy industry are pushing for an irresponsible rollback of environmental and health protections for citizens who live near energy production.

Don’t let Mitt Romney frack our future: join us tomorrow in Fort Lupton.

We’ll have “Romney in the Tank for Big Oil” signs for everyone, or bring your own! And above all, thank you for standing up at a moment’s notice for Colorado’s clean air and water.

He’s to appear at a drill pad? How appropriate! Any doubt now, folks?

I’d love to go out there, but there is no way I could carry enough raspberries. Think about it.

Funny, I didn’t see any protesters out there this morning…just supporters. It must be because Romney is talking about the economy and jobs instead gay marriage.

Could also be that he carefully arranged the event in a remote location, on a working day, and kept it secret till the last second. But I think Mr. Romney’s going to be having a bit of a time explaining his history of assaulting fellow college students so this little Hail Mary play isn’t going to do him much good. He’s brittle and thinks he can force the discussion the way he wants it to go – just like you. Normally I would have moderated this comment down but I want you folks to realize how badly you screwed yourselves after the election and just how arrogant and foolish you were.

What does ANY concept of marriage have to do with politics anyway?

If it’s considered a liabilty, it has everything to do with GOP politics apparently.
