About

Free Range Longmont is produced by a group of Longmont citizens who are deeply concerned about the direction of local as well as national politics.

We intend to showcase the Progressive viewpoint and to expose the conservative bias of other local media.

The focus of Free Range Longmont is on local, state and national domestic affairs. However, we welcome opinion pieces from those in the wide-ranging progressive community who study foreign affairs.

Free Range Longmont seeks to foster reflection on the numerous issues that affect our local, state and national well-being.

We are a volunteer organization and we welcome new writers. Use our contact page to get in touch and apply for author designation. We’ll post progressive news stories and letters that other outlets won’t – send it to us first!

I am a progressive, beginning with Eugene McCarthy for President. I am very glad to see a progressive center open so close to where I live at 6th and Emery. After Macalester College and a liberal Theological Seminary and a year of poetry writing grad school at UMass,I was moved to join the Labor Movement as a custodian at the St.Vrain schools. We eventually joined Afl-CIO. Now retired(graduated), my primary focus will be to write more poems. I am a widely published poet, and worked with Robert Bly, who is both a progressive and a poet.

Hello, I’m a Romanian activist. I read with much attention your information regarding fracking in Colorado. Well, they came in Romania also :( But we’re organizing the resistance. They wanted to put the first fracking exploration well last month at Pungesti and the local farmers stood against the trucks, protecting the field with their own bodies. I’ll follow your news with great interest, because this poisonous monster called Fracking starts to sniff Romania also.
